Signs in the Sun and Moon and Stars

Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. Matthew 24:26-31

Summer of 2017 is turning out to be quite the season astronomically. Around July 23, and X-class solar flare and accompanying CME (coronal mass ejection) occurred from a sunspot on the far side of the sun. Had that flare occurred on the earth side of the sun, it would have lit up the skies with auroras, and perhaps have interfered with many electronic systems on the planet. A strong enough CME could destroy the electrical grid and computer systems, effectively knocking the world back to the mid-19th century (only technologically speaking. Unfortunately, we would still be stuck with 21st century morals and problems).

Around the middle of July, earth entered the debris stream left by the comet Swift-Tuttle, and beginning the nearly month-long Perseid meteor shower. It starts slowly and peaks around August 9-13 every year. This year, it will peak on August 12. Meteor showers aren’t particularly big news; several occur like clockwork every year. However, this year’s Perseid shower are different from other meteor showers apparently, and for this reason are notable in to those of us watching for prophetically significant events. Astronomers say that the 2017 Perseids will be the brightest meteor shower…in recorded human history. Just how, exactly, one determines the brightness of a meteor shower, I don’t know, but I assume it has to do with the rate (meteors per hour) and perhaps the expected size of meteors, or maybe the number of fireballs (i.e. meteors brighter than the magnitude of the planet Venus). [After publication of this post, I was notified by those guardians of truth, the Facebook Truth Police, that the referenced article on the meteor shower is disputed by other paragons of truth, Snopes, and the Associated Press. Even if this story should prove to be 100% baloney, it doesn’t mitigate the myriad of other celestial signs happening these days.]

We’ve not heard much about this in the US, but on August 7th, parts of Asia, Australia, and the Indian Ocean will see a partial lunar eclipse. There’s nothing especially noteworthy about this event (as far as I know) other than its proximity to two other events, one of which is the Perseid shower above.

The other event, the total solar eclipse happening on August 21st, has been widely publicized in the United States, since the path of totality makes landfall on the Oregon coast, travels across Wyoming, Missouri, and leaves through South Carolina.

I would think that this eclipse could be considered a “sign in the sun and moon”, and maybe even the stars, since in areas in the path of totality, some of the brightest stars might be visible during the eclipse. Certainly, a brilliant meteor shower would appear that the stars are falling from heaven. It’s something to consider, anyway.

Weirdly, seven years hence, a second total solar eclipse will cross North America on April 8, 2024. this time entering the US at Eagle Pass, Texas, crossing Arkansas, Indiana, and skirting the US-Canadian border from Ohio to Maine. Much has been made of the paths of these two events, as the area where they cross is supposedly over the New Madrid seismic zone, which is the site of several extra-biblical, alleged prophecies of a massive earthquake that will supposedly destroy the Mississippi valley from the Gulf of Mexico to the Great Lakes.

I don’t know about all that. What I do know is that the area of common totality for both eclipses is a parallelogram, the southern border of which touches Cairo, Illinois. Cairo, Illinois is considered the northernmost point of the New Madrid seismic zone. It makes for some interesting coincidences for sure, but it’s nothing over which to get one’s knickers in a twist. Of course, there is that whole “earthquakes in divers places” in Matthew 24:7, but really, I’m not so sure that has anything to do with this. I guess we’ll see.

Just an interesting side note: In Judaism, solar eclipses are considered solemn signs or warnings to the nations (i.e. everybody except the Jews).  That kind of makes this “X marks the spot” thing seem a little more ominous.

Another Report of Blood-Red Water

“And the third angel poured out his vial on the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood. And I heard the angel of the waters say, ‘You are righteous, O Lord, which are, and were, and shall be, because you have judged thus. For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and you have given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.’ And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are your judgments.” Revelation 16:4-7 AKJV

How many stories have we seen in the news over the past several months of rivers, lakes, bays, oceans turning red? They always are ‘debunked’ if you will as a red tide–an algal bloom that colors the water blood-red and makes it toxic to marine life. Implied in the scientific explanation of these events is that because they can be explained, they are therefore mundane and have nothing to do with God or bible prophecy.

I beg to differ. Who better than God Almighty, creator of all that is or was or ever shall be, would know how his creation works? Where does it say that because something is a divine sign, it must have an absolutely divine, supernatural origin beyond human explanation? I don’t know if red tides are becoming more frequent or if they just get more exposure in media. Whatever the case, we are seeing blood-red waters happening a lot lately. Anybody who reads this blog knows that I have abandoned the rather narrow-minded view of prophecy that natural occurrences cannot be the fulfillment of prophecy. We should pay attention to ANYTHING which piques our interest because it seems to echo bible prophecy.

So here we have another episode of blood-red water. There are a couple of different things in this case of which we should take note. First, this has occurred in Dhaka, Bangladesh, a Muslim city in a Muslim country. Secondly, it occurred on the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha. Lastly, it’s really blood.

That’s right. Heavy rains, poor drainage, and thousands of ritually cruel animal sacrifices have resulted in blood tainted waters flooding the streets of Dhaka. Are these rivers or springs of water turning to “blood”? No, but it bears examination, don’t you think? It is even more so when you consider that this has happened in a city and country controlled by a religious system hellbent on murdering as many Christians as it can, and on one of their chief holidays.

So what if this isn’t just another weird coincidence with Revelation? What if this is prophetically significant? If it is, there is only one thing I can tell you for sure: that means we are in the Third Bowl of God’s Wrath, and the end isn’t far away. The Fourth Bowl is scorching sun; solar flares perhaps, or other abnormalities in our usually stable sun.

By the way, here also is the explanation for all those naysayers who scoff at the prophecy in Revelation 14 of blood flowing up to the height of a horse’s bridle for miles, saying that it would take more than the population of the world to shed that much blood. Pure blood wouldn’t flow, first of all; it would just coagulate into a gelatinous goo. But here we see how the blood of a few thousand (probably) goats and other such animals can color the flood waters of a city. It isn’t hard at all to see the slaughter of armies coloring a large volume of water as is described.

Anyway, just keep watch. Don’t be caught sleeping.

Time to Choose

The Fall of Rome

Every day now I see another story of alleged vote fraud, of the GOP overtly conspiring to deprive their very own front of the party’s nomination, and of the DNC blatantly stacking their “superdelegates” so that Clinton will easily win over Sanders. Out of all this, I see–more than I could have ever imagined–just how corrupt the American political machine is. When a Republican party official can say on national television that they pick the candidate, not the voters, what voice does a nation or its people have? For whatever one might think of Donald Trump, it is his presence in this campaign that has forced the revelation of this corruption to the surface. All the political world, both Democrat and Republican parties, have united in stopping Donald Trump. Just today it was announced that Colorado would have no caucus, and that all their delegates would go automatically to Trump’s opponent Ted Cruz. What did the GOP tweet about this? “We did it.” They did it. The successfully stole any potential delegates from their own leading candidate and the opportunity to vote for him or anybody else from Republican voters in Colorado. They changed the electoral process in Colorado to something more likely seen in the Soviet Union. The depth of the party’s mendacity is breathtaking.

This nation is adrift; we have no rudder. We cast off God decades ago, and it seems the time to pay the bill may be at hand. I’ve been reading a lot lately about the collapse of societies and civilizations–particularly of the fall of Rome and the medieval darkness that fell on Europe for a millennium afterwards. Amid the ruins of the Roman civitas, tribal chiefs and feudal lords arose to fill the vacuum, and over all arched the umbrella of the church, such as it was. Corrupt and apostate, still it did provide some unifying force throughout Europe. It could exert great control over leaders and their people simply by the threat of excommunication. Many people in America have likened our future to that of the Roman collapse, but I respectfully disagree; our collapse won’t be as gentle. America, if/when it fails, will not collapse like Rome. It will not die and fall down where others can come in, pick up the pieces, and carry on. America will fly apart. It will explode, and the pieces will take a very long time to collect, if indeed they ever are. Look at the state of American society. Even before any collapse has begun, it is fragmented nearly to death. Only the overbearing, and increasingly bloated, ineffectual, corrupt, and hated federal government holds the thing together. When the threat of punishment no longer has any terror–and that’s all the Federal government really contributes anymore–the centrifugal force of cultural revolution and cultural Marxism will fly us apart. We are a supremely immoral, conscienceless, and brutal people. Remove the referees, and the nation will be at each others’ throats. The stage is already set. Only an unmerited act of divine mercy can save us. Whether one will come, I cannot say.

I see some hope, but I am just another person, and I make a lot of mistakes and misjudgments. I see hope in the universal, overt fury directed at Donald Trump. Every facet of the world system hates him. They hate him so much they have willingly cast aside their facade to attack him. We see now what many have long suspected; the two-party system in America is a sham. There is one party with two faces, a living, breathing Hegelian dialectic. This gives me hope that Donald Trump is the real deal. I see these attacks and the blatant vote fraud carried out, by the Republicans no less, and I wonder how he can ever survive and overcome, and actually ascend to the Presidency. I then wonder, what if it is just another deception, and he too will send us to our destruction?

What a unique time it is in which we live. There is literally no one or nothing upon which we can pin our hopes. Our very world is coming apart. Today I read a series of articles from people not particularly given to spasms of Chicken Little-ing and who are reasonably rational, in which they project we have nine months until the collapse–January 2017. I presume they mean around the time when the Presidential inauguration happens (or is supposed to happen). The things they suggest one does to prepare, I cannot do, and the collapse they predict is vicious, a societal detonation of the worst kind. Regardless of what comes, we have this hope:

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I [Jesus] have overcome the world.  John 16:33 KJV

For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. Matthew 24:5-14 KJV

I think we’re there. I also believe that if we believers actually put down our iPhones for a few minutes and seek wisdom from God, he will direct us and empower us, not necessarily to survive the times ahead, although that is what I pray, but to overcome them, and in the process make some difference in something that is eternal. It’s time to begin disconnecting ourselves from this world system, to stop listening to their trash and lies. This is the end. Surely, if you have any notion of God, any concept of what it is to be a Christian, you must sense it. The time to choose whom we will serve is upon us.

God forbid that we should forsake the LORD, to serve other gods. Joshua 24:15

Of Old Men’s Dreams Part 3: Streets Aflame

Aftermath of 2015 Baltimore riots

Only a month and a half after I promised to post the third in the series of political dreams, but in that time, this blog has had two–TWO–visitors, and then not to either of the dreams posts. So, if I’m tardy in posting something new, I’m sure you won’t mind, since you aren’t there. This truly is The Empty Church.  Perhaps I should change the name of this blog, just as its purpose has changed.

But enough boohooing about my abysmal web statistics. The fact is that I’m not doing this so I can become the next big Christian blogmeister.  I thought you should know that if you are reading this, you are a member of an exquisitely minuscule minority–fewer people than have walked on the moon.

Former Connecticut (D) Senator and 2000 Vice-Presidential candidate Joseph Lieberman

This third dream came to me very shortly after the election of Barack Obama in 2008. It was nighttime (or at least very dark outside). I stood next to the Presidential limousine on the driver’s side, where rear door was open. An unknown man sat in the driver’s seat, and Barack Obama sat in the front passenger seat. An older man who was, or strongly resembled former senator Joseph Lieberman, sat in the back seat on the driver side. (Why Joe Lieberman should feature in this at all is beyond me). However, in the dream, Lieberman (for lack of a better label) is a brooding, dark personality that exudes extreme danger.

Emperor Barack Obama

You have to understand that I have a law enforcement background, and at the time I was very unhappy about Obama’s election. I think part of the dream is me trying to reconcile myself with this unhappy state of affairs. Through the open back door where “Lieberman” is sitting, I try to persuade Obama and his bodyguards that this person is dangerous and the President should be moved away from him. During my rather desperate pleas to be heard, Obama sat unmoved. He sat upright in his seat and stared straight forward; his behavior made me think (in the dream) that he was acting like a mafia boss; this dangerous man did not worry him because this dangerous man was under his control.

I moved around to the front of the limousine (I don’t remember why) and at that time, “Lieberman” exited the vehicle and began attacking. His appearance hadn’t changed, but he had become an almost unkillable machine spewing flames in all directions. As I watched this through the windshield of the limo, I saw Obama sitting there still unmoved. He was utterly unconcerned as this man killed and destroyed. I understood that while “Lieberman” could be stopped, he was almost like the Terminator in that it would take an extraordinary, coordinated effort to destroy him. And here it ended.

Certainly Obama has unleashed chaos and violence on this nation. He is the Divider-in-Chief, sowing wherever he can division and discord, empowering criminals and hobbling law enforcement. There have been riots, terror, and violence under his rule. The federal government has morphed into a hated instrument of persecution and injustice. It is as if we do indeed have a crime lord in the White House, for criminals fill the halls of government, and the Executive branch is a cesspool of graft, corruption, mendacity, and overt anti-Christian, anti-Israeli, and pro-Islam bias. While I doubt Obama is the Antichrist, he is certainly an antichrist, and preparing the way for the Antichrist. Perhaps he is best described as an anti-John the Baptist. Truly, the devil has come down to Washington DC (but in all fairness, he’s probably had a standing accommodation at the Watergate Hotel for years).

I find it impossible to pray for this person, in spite of the biblical admonition to do so. The most I can do is pray for his speedy removal, because I believe Barack Obama is punishment sent on America for its idolatry, sorcery, necromancy, murders, greed, and violence. God forbid that another like him should follow. God forbid that America should continue on the immoral course that brought this judgment upon us, yet I see little sign of change.

I think I understand this dream, but I feel there are still elements about it that I haven’t understood. This much is certain; America is at the critical point in its history. How we proceed may determine whether we stand or fall.

Of Old Men’s Dreams

But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;

And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:   (Acts 2:16-17 KJV).

I am ever reluctant to step across the line from being a person reporting interesting current events in relation to prophecy, to being somebody offering highly subjective experiences and thoughts that may have nothing to do with bible prophecy. I see them all the time on the internet–well-meaning Christians who believe they have heard from God about coming events. There are all kind of prophecies out there, many of them warning of imminent judgment dangling from the hand of God over America. Some of them have a frightening ring of authenticity to them, and many seem to contradict others. Only time will tell which, if any, are correct (and truly from God).

Here’s my problem. I too feel that I may have heard from God through some dreams I’ve had over the past few years. Actually, I had three in the past few weeks.  A fourth dream I’m including after the recent three, I had shortly after the election of Barak Obama in 2008. While at the time I thought the dream was significant, only after the recent dreams, and passing of seven years under the Obama regime, have I come to believe it might have been from God. I will detail them all now and in posts to follow immediately after this post. God willing, It won’t be four months between posts, as it has been for this one.

First, I will tell you of the most recent dream, because I feel it might be a warning of a deceptive tactic that a certain presidential candidate is about to employ on Christians in America, just to win their votes and support. I will also give you the meaning of the dream as I understood it immediately after I dreamed it, but I leave it with you for your own analysis.

I dreamed that I was in a foot race, like a marathon. I was running along a broad, dirt path lined by sparse forest.  As I ran, I passed another competitor, who I recognized as Hillary Clinton. Here the path took a gentle dip down, and near the bottom of the dip I passed a second competitor, who I recognized as Debbie Wasserman-Schultz. In case you don’t know who that is, she is the chairman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC). When I passed Wasserman-Schultz, I felt an urgent need to stay as far ahead of them as possible; I could not let them catch up and pass me.

debbie wasserman schultz

Democratic National Committee Chairman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz

I maintained a good lead over both Clinton and Wasserman-Schultz, until the marathon course entered the sanctuary of an old-style church, closely resembling the church I attended through my childhood. The course passed from front to back of the church down a narrow aisle between the pews and the outside wall. Here there was only room on the path for one person with a little extra space, and here, Hillary Clinton caught up to me.

At this point, I entered into a conversation with Hillary Clinton, even as we both tried to maneuver down the narrow aisle. She was still behind me, but right behind me, and if I let her, she could crowd me out between the pews and pass me. Although in the dream, Ms. Clinton looked like she does in reality, I began to speak to her as if she were the wife of one of the former pastors of my childhood church. I can’t exactly recall, but I believe I asked her what year she and her husband “Pastor Smith” (I have changed the name here) first came to the church. Ms. Clinton is acting as if she is the pastor’s wife and answering my questions. The whole, brief conversation is congenial, yet I somehow know that I am trying to ascribe attributes to Hillary Clinton that she does not possess–almost as if I am imposing some wishful thinking that she is really a godly person. While this is happening, Wasserman-Schultz is right on Clinton’s heels. Here the dream ends.

You did run well; who did hinder you that you should not obey the truth?
(Galatians 5:7 AKJV)

When I remembered this dream upon awaking, I almost immediately understood that it had meaning. The appearance of such a nominal character as Debbie Wasserman-Schultz reinforced my belief that this was a dream sent by the Holy Spirit, and it is this dream that has caused me to feel that I must report all of these dreams here, to the handful of people who read this little blog.

I believe the dream means this: American Christians have in their power (of their vote and of prayer) to keep Hillary Clinton out of the White House in 2016. However, there is a plot or a tactic, formally organized and promulgated by the Democratic National Committee, to recast Hillary Clinton as a good old-fashioned Bible-belt Christian (as ridiculous as that sounds). I don’t believe for one second that many Christians would ever believe that, but this is the end times, and it seems that we are awash in powerful delusions, so who knows. I do believe, however, that it could deceive or confound enough Christians that they either vote for her, or don’t vote for her opponent, or become lax in prayer about this election. I also believe that a Clinton victory in 2016 will spell disaster for the United States of America. As it stands now, considering the mendacious kakistocracy that is currently in power, a Hillary Clinton victory is a real danger.

The symbolism in the dream leads me to believe that American Christians can lose this country to four or, God-forbid, eight years of godless Clinton National Socialism, but we have the power to stop it. It was in the aisles of the American church where Clinton closed the rather significant deficit she had in the race. Why? Because people in the church played nice and civil, and entertained the audacious lie that she is some kind of old-school, deep South, fried chicken, church picnic Christian, when she is nothing of the sort. If anything, she is an enemy of the American church.

I can only speculate, but I believe that passing Wasserman-Schultz in the low spot of the path might mean that the DNC employs this scheme at a point where Clinton is tanking in the polls against the Republican candidate. Or it could mean that the DNC will play dirty and use “low” tactics (although it hardly takes divine revelation to see that). What is clear is that the battle–the race–can be lost by the church if it is not wide awake and alert for this deception. We as Christians cannot afford to give the Obama-Clinton junta anymore power or influence. We cannot toy with these people, and we should not endorse them, entertain their lies, or apathetically ignore their schemes. They are not our friends, and they can unleash hell on this nation unless the church ignores the distractions and presses on toward the goal.

Lest you think this is just about who gets to sit in the ivory tower at 1600 Pennsylvania for the next four or eight years, let me assure you it is not. America is at a spiritual crossroads. God would rather we repent and turn back to Him instead of continuing on this path until He must judge this nation. A Clinton victory in 2016 virtually assures the judgment of God on America. In fact, I’m not so sure that her election wouldn’t be the first act of judgment upon America.  God can send us a King Cyrus, or he can send us an Emperor Nero. Who he sends depends upon the American church.

More posts will follow shortly concerning the other dreams I believe were sent by God. Until then, stay awake and alert. Now is not the time to doze.

As always, I welcome any feedback about this, or any other subject discussed here.

Another Candidate for Antichrist

Ordinarily, when I see something in the news that I think might be relevant to prophecy, I just sit on it for a while, even if just for a few hours. However, when I saw this news story, it stunned me. If it’s true–and I have no reason to doubt it at this point–the implications are chilling. We may be looking at the Antichrist.

Prince Talal of Saudi Arabia: my visit to Israel shall mark the new age of peace and fraternity

Just the headline alone is pregnant with prophetic buzz words like “new age”, “peace and fraternity”. As far as other qualifications for Antichrist, I know of none at the moment. In fact, I know nothing about this man other than what I just read on an internet search a few minutes ago. According to the article, he is making these overtures toward Israel at the direction of King Salman of Saudia Arabia, so this also makes the Saudi king a potential candidate for Antichrist.

What’s all the big deal about this man and his upcoming trip? At first glance, this news story sounds very much as if Prince Talal could be the kind of guy who could negotiate a peace accord between Israel and her numerous enemies in the Middle East, or perhaps just “confirm a covenant” between them (Daniel 9:27)–a major prophecy of the Antichrist. Talal may have no other known Antichrist qualities, but even out of all of the candidates in Looking for Mr. Antichrist Redux, only Talal has any chance currently of negotiating a peace for Israel, short-lived though it will be.

Interestingly coincident with this is a report that Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky, a leading ultra-orthodox rabbi in Israel, is saying that the arrival of the Messiah is imminent. Rabbi Kanievsky is calling for all Jews worldwide to make aliyah (return) to Israel as soon as possible. He says that the time of the Messiah’s appearance will be at the end of the sabbatical year–on or about September 12, 2015. We know from scripture, however, that the “Messiah” they welcome will not be the true Messiah. Jesus warned:

I am come in my Father’s name, and you receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him you will receive.  — John 5:43 (AKJV)

It’s too early to tell what will come of these events.  They may turn out to be prophetic fizzles. This situation, and this man Prince Talal, bear monitoring and further scrutiny. The end times are surely upon us.

Looking for Mr. Antichrist Redux

A couple of years ago, I posted Looking for Mr. Antichrist, which examined the possibility of Barack Obama being the Antichrist. In spite of his hideous, anti-Christian, anti-Israel, pro-Islam, pro-immorality reign, he suffers from a dearth of charisma needed to rise (or descend, I suppose) to that title. At the time of this post, he is statistically the least popular, most hated, US President in history. Remember that this is a country that has suffered through the presidencies of Andrew Johnson, Jimmy Carter, and Bill Clinton.

Well then, who might be the Antichrist? The top three candidates at the moment are (in no particular order), Vladimir Putin of Russia, Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey, and Alexi Tsipras of Greece. Each of these men have characteristics that make them favorable and unfavorable candidates.

Vladimir Putin is wildly popular among Russians, and is increasingly admired around the world, even by people in the United States (mostly as a result of comparisons to the treasonous lout occupying the White House). He is rebuilding the military prowess of post-Soviet Russia, making powerful alliances with other countries (see the BRICS alliance), and engaging in a Hitleresque program of regional annexation (see South Ossetia, Abkhazia, the 2008 Russo-Georgian War, and the Crimean Annexation). The prophecy of a possibly Russian-led alliance leading an invasion of Israel that culminates in the Battle of Armageddon adds a permanent vote for any leader of Russia. Against Putin are his relatively strong support of the Russian Orthodox Church (though that could be a ruse and/or politically motivated).

Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey is the favorite candidate of Walid Shoebat, a former PLO terrorist converted to Christianity. Shoebat makes a powerful argument for Erdogan as Antichrist, based on Erdogan’s adherence to Sufi Islamic theology in which man can declare himself to be God, as well as his desire to accumulate to himself titles, such as the next Salah ad-Din (Saladin), savior of Islam who will conquer Egypt and Jerusalem. Shoebat notes the significance of this aspiration, in light of the prophecy in Isaiah 19. This chapter speaks of “a cruel master and a fierce king” (v.4) subduing Egypt, followed by the Messiah delivering Egypt, and the Coptic Christians there who suffer cruel persecution under Islamic barbarity (vv. 19-22). Shoebat also believes that the prophecy that has been historically interpreted as a Russian-led alliance invading Israel actually is predicting a Turkish-led invasion. Very weakly against Erdogan, is his recent row with Pope Francis over Armenian genocide, but even that does not prevent them from working together for the mutual benefit of evil. I believe that Pope Francis is a flaming anti-Semite, as evidenced by his Israelicidal support of a Palestinian state. I’m sure these two Jew haters can find common ground.

Alexi Tsipras of Greece is a weak candidate at the moment, his most significant Antichrist credentials being his atheism and Marxism, and his refusal to take the traditional oath of office from the archbishop of the Greek Orthodox Church. Instead, he took the oath in his own name: “I declare in my name, my honor and my conscience to obey the Constitution and the laws.” This is significant because of a statement made by Jesus Christ, which many interpret to be a prediction of the Jews being deceived by the Antichrist:

I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive. John 5:43 KJV

Overall, Tsipras isn’t very compelling as a candidate for Antichrist, but as I have said before, it’s the little things that ring a bell with scripture for which we should be watching, and this oath of his definitely rings that bell.

At this moment, my vote is on Erdogan, but if things drag on for another few years or some other man rises to the top of the geopolitical flotsam, I may well change my mind again (for the gazillionth time). The point is to be ever vigilant, watching for the signs of Christ’s coming, and the end of the age.
